Remontoir was founded in 2011 by three watchmakers who left larger houses with the same complaint: the calendar, not the movement, decided when work was finished.
The atelier produces fewer than two hundred movements a year across three calibres, all designed, cut, finished, and regulated under one roof. Nothing is outsourced except the sapphire crystals and the leather.
The name is a mechanism — the remontoir d’egalite, a device that exists purely so the escapement never feels the mainspring winding down. It seemed like the right thing to promise.
